My Top January Sale Picks

I have been shopping the January sales for around a month now, and it’s safe to say I’ve picked up a LOT of bargains. I usually find that the majority of sale items have already sold out in my size, but this time around I have been pleasantly surprised and have managed to find quite a few items in the sales which I have had my eyes on for a while. Although quite a few of these items are now sold out online, I have put links to everything mentioned in case you’re like me and stalk items online just in case they happen to come back in stock (this is actually how I managed to get my hands on quite a few of the items mentioned). Just to pre-warn: there is a lot of animal print!

First up: outerwear. I am far too obsessed with buying coats and jackets, and so I was pretty impressed that I managed to limit myself to only buying one in the sales this year. I am loving this pink Zara coat and feel like it will be my go-to jacket for spring! (Currently still available here). I love how oversized this coat is- probably more so on me as I am only 5 ft 2!

Due to the unpredictable and mostly freezing British weather, knitwear is necessary right through until March. I therefore decided to pick up a few jumpers in the sale, my two favourites being from Zara. The first is this oversized cream sweater: I am currently loving oversized sleeves, and this sweater is perfect with its super oversized puff sleeves. This jumper was sold out in my usual size, so I had to size-up to a medium; it is extremely oversized on me but also ridiculously snugly (although difficult to squeeze into a coat)!

The second Zara jumper I picked up is this oversized striped sweater with rip detailing- available here.

I had been eyeing up this Topshop leopard-print pyjama shirt for a while, although I previously passed it up as I already have something similar. However, when I found one in my size for £10 I decided it was meant to be! I love the silky fabric and find this can be easily dressed up or down.

Another trend I have been loving throughout winter is ruffles: and so I had to snap up this cream Zara top with sleeve-ruffle detail when I saw it in-store. I couldn’t find this colour online but the burgundy version is here.

The only dress I purchased in the sales was this silky slip dress with lace detailing from Zara. This absolutely drowns me (as I am the height of a 12-year-old) but as it was an absolute steal at £12.99, I decided I’d get to work on my sewing machine and shorten the length.

I wanted this grey utility-style jumpsuit from Topshop for soooo long and was gutted when it sold out in my size. I couldn’t believe it when I found one in my size (for £20) whilst I was out shopping! This is so versatile and can be dressed up with a belt or dressed down over a t-shirt or jumper.

I really like the belt detail on this animal-print skirt from Topshop and love this paired with a sweatshirt (as below) or a simple white tee and heeled boots for a casual day-time outfit.

The second skirt I picked up is this faux-leather skirt from Missguided. I have been loving burgundy recently and I really like the quilted detailing on this- I can see myself wearing it a lot when it isn’t quite so freezing outside.

Another item I had wanted for ages was these Topshop leopard-print boots, after seeing them all over Instagram. I put off buying them initially as they were too expensive for my student budget, but once I saw they had gone in the sale I checked online to see if they were in-stock at a nearby Topshop and I was so happy to find that they were. I love these boots so much and think they look great with an all-black outfit!

Finally, I found this super cute furry clutch bag in the Zara sale and had to buy it. It is the perfect size for a night out and has a chain strap (which is necessary for me when I have had one too many drinks, as it becomes very easy to misplace a clutch)!
